Family-Fun-Under-The-Sun

Considering a summer trip to Kamloops, but want to make sure to include the whole family? Look no further than some of our activities in July and August that the whole gang can participate in this summer. We’re showcasing some outdoor activities that are inclusive of those of all ages and most importantly, don’t break the bank.

Get Out and Play Nine

Looking to squeeze a few holes in? Playing nine holes has become a growing trend in order to sneak in a quick round, and works especially well on a summer vacation when other activities are planned through-out the day.

In order to grow the game of golf in Kamloops and attract to players of all ages to participate, there are many family-friendly green fees available at our local courses. Tee up among some of the most diverse golf landscapes in the country and get the little ones swinging early!

Here’s a look at two amazing deals that can be taken advantage of on your summer getaway in Kamloops:

Rivershore Golf Links – $44 for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 juniors) on Sundays after 4pm

Eagle Point Golf Resort – $25 for adults, $15 for juniors every day after 4pm

Home on the Range

If nine holes is too timely, there are a number of quality driving ranges in the area to tee up some fun. Play a game of closest to the pin on the grass range at Kamloops Golf and Country Club, or have a long drive competition on the synthetic turf at Tobiano.

Get your swing back while teaching the future generation about the game of golf. All local courses include a variety of clubs that can be rented, including junior-sized irons and drivers.

Full practice areas with greens and chipping areas are included, and with buckets of balls starting at $5 at all of the local courses, this is an inexpensive way to get out and enjoy the Kamloops heat while it lasts.

Public Mini-Golf at McArthur Park

Recently opened, the Public Mini-Golf at McArthur Island Park is another one of the Tournament Capital of Canada’s sports facilities completely open and available to the public.

This is one of the few municipally run mini-golf courses in the area, and is great for families looking to spend an afternoon in between downtown events. In an attempt to grow the game of golf, the course has been long requested from the locals, and adds to the growing number of public contributions for incoming travellers.

Beyond the course, the park includes a number of outdoor activities, such as disc golf, biking/walking trails through the natural beauty of MacArthur Island on The Shore.

Just a reminder to toss a few putters and golf balls in the car, and you’re on your way to a fun afternoon on the mini-links!
