Among the championship golf courses and multitude of outdoor activities Kamloops has to offer, the months of May and June are packed with lively events to keep the night going after your round. Kamloops’ craft beer and wine scene is on the rise, and paves the path for fun, summer outings that can be enjoyed after a day of golf. Here are just a sample of some of the upcoming events in coming weeks.
Painting with Wine – May 30
Get creative and learn to paint with wine! This two-hour session will be taught from an expert at the Kamloops Art Gallery, as they help you explore the craft of wine painting and crafting your very own wine label. You will learn the ins and outs of texture and tone variation in this enjoyable, collaborative experience.
During the session, guests will be provided with local wines to taste and sip during the creative process. All skill levels are welcome to learn and hone their talents in this unique form of canvas art. Tickets are $5+ tax and are available through the Kamloops Art Gallery or by calling 1 (250) 377-2400.
Hosted at the Colombo Lodge, this unique wine tasting event will test your viticulture knowledge. In this fun and interactive format, a panel of three “wine professionals” will describe the current wine being tasted, and you will have to decide which expert is telling the truth! Teams of six will put their wits to the test and see if they can spot the “wine bluff”.
In addition to showcasing a selection of local wine; tasting platters, live music and a silent auction are all part of the experience. Don’t miss this opportunity to battle against the experts and test your knowledge. WCT Wine Bluff is one of the main events of the 21st Annual Kamloops Wine Festival starting on May 24. Grand Wine Tasting Party – June 1
Wine lovers, rejoice. The 21st Annual Kamloops Wine Festival climaxes with The Grand Wine Tasting Party. The final stop of the festival is an evening where guests can sample over 150 wines, including local ciders and spirits. Pair rich wines with mouth-watering tastings from Chop N’ Block, Uptown Chefs and 4 Oaks Oil.
This event will be hosted at the Coast Kamloops Hotel, featuring music from The Dave Coalmine Band, and includes a silent auction. The Kamloops Wine Festival has partnered with the Coast Hotel to provide a discounted room rate.
